rear shocker leaking??

Car  wrx sti ppp (305bhp)
just had my service today, says on invoice "rear shocker leaking" "front brake pads 50%worn"

is the rear shocker thing serious? do i need it fixed asap?

hmm, gonna have to wait till nxt weekend dont think warrenty will cover it, over 12 mts old, dammit

if you can wire a plug, you can fit a shock

easy peasy, you don't even have to jack up the car (if you're near birmingham i'll do it for free)

can any1 explain how to remove the rear shocker? ive had a look at it theres a bolt at the bottom of it, do i just undo that and it will pull off? advice please?

Dead easy as Fred said.
That one bolt yep needs undoing then in the boot remove the dudt cover and remove that bolt and the shock comes out.
No need to ever jack the car up.

get it warrantied its a design fault, is it a non cup 182? I've had 8 shockers on mine all under warranty. they're pish!!!

8 !!!!!!. I thought i had it bad at 3 lol.. Must be a design fault as you say with the non cup.

I had 2 on my mk1 172 lasted 28k miles. My mk2 172 has also had 2 only lasted 25k!!

Not covered under warrenty. I tried 4 local renault stealers. they use the 'wear and tear' excuse.

how much did you pay to get them fixed? or what price are they without fitting mate?

£81 a piece on non cup 182's but refuse to pay you have a 3 year warranty and its a known problem. Mines 2 years old and on 24k miles and i had my last one replaced 3 weeks ago, no charge.

Its always rear ones though...
