Rear Speaker Help

The rear speakers havnt been working in my car since i got it and ive only just got round to trying to sort them out. I have absolutly no clue about speakers and sound systems etc so was wondering if someone could help with the best/quickest ways to diagnose the fault? pretty sure when i bought it they told me it had a new radio just before i bought it, is it possible the rears aren't wired up properly?

Have you taken them out and checked they are plugged in? This may sound like a stupid suggestion but the previous owner could have had aftermarket ones in then not connected the old ones back up
