REAR SPEAKERS 182

Does anyone know how to get at the speakers in the quater panels of 182? does the cover pop off as easy as the front

What size are the standard speakers in the back? has any1 changed theres

i think most people tend not to bother with the rears to be honest

They are 13cms, same as the fronts

ok thanks i will hav2 try it. what do u reckons best 13cm speakers not to expensive, iv got alpine components for front would you say just stick with alpine for back aswell?

Can any1 elts confirm if the cover just pops off in the back for rear speakers?

Yes it does just pop off, but be bloody carefull they are very fragile.

Hi Chris,

I was also thinking about direct replacing the front and rear speakers with some after market ones (i.e of the same size). I have no great plans for an ICE system, just a upgrade over the stock 182 one.

Im looking for a decent HU (MP3 is a must!) which has an inbuilt amp to give some life to the aftermarket speakers. Let me know how it goes for you ... and any recommendations you have.

If your fitting co-ax in the front and rear disconnect the factory tweeters.

The rear speaker covers pop at the back and middle and then slide out at the front.

For your ref:

- INT KC840B (Interface)

- KWE 845E (Lead)

Are needed for the stalk to work with that Alpine system. Also the speakers seem a little on the cheap side in comparison with the HU. Were they recommended as a set or did you choose them? I say this since my audio dealer was pushing me into getting some "quality" MB Quart speakers at 300 € for the complete set, front & back + tweeters which would do justice to the same Apline HU you are looking at.

Only changed my rears (so far) the ones that came in the cup were crap! Different to the fronts (unless the tweater makes the difference).

Have still gotta do the fronts. Lack of funds atm - bloody mortgage!

Interesting thread. Can someone recommend a good set of aftermarket speakers for a 182? I wouldnt mind getting mine changed if the factory fitted ones are crap.

depends how much you want to spend

i just got 2 sets of basic pioneer for £24.99 a pair.(argos )

need to add a sub for some more bass though

Probably £100 max for the whole set.
Already have a good HU & CD changer that can be used.

i got some pioneer TS-G1348 - 13cm speakers. Got em from motorworld for £30.

They are pretty good, can handle some punishment. I just need to uprate my front speakers now.
