rear strut brace question.

theres obviously a reason for the difference in the strut braces on ebay.

i have a 2001 mk2 ph2 1.4 16v and saw a rear one on ebay for a 172 fairly cheap

just wondering if this will fit or not and if not whats the difference?

i did do a quick search and i am sorry for a noobish question but i just dont know :/

The rear strut brace will fit any of the Clio's not just Renaultsport cars. To fit the brace remove the rubber covers on the top of the shock absorbers in the boot and remove the nut from the shock absorber. Once that has been taken off, lift the rubber bush off that fits over the centre stud and put somewhere safe for when you need to remove the strut brace. Then take the strut brace and put a smear of grease around the inside of the round cup at each end and place the bar over the shock absorber mounting points and replace the nut on each shock absorber and tighten. Ensure the round cups at each end of the bar are facing down so they cover the mounting points for the dampers on the top of the wheel arch. The reason for greasing the cup on the bar is to stop it making a noise when driving the car. The strut brace is solid mounted so it will make a noise if not greased, same as a tow bar will rattle on a towing ball if not greased. Put the rubber bushes and the top covers safe for when you are finished using the strut brace. I only use my brace on track. It limits the room in the boot and makes the ride too hard for road use especially if driving over undulating road surfaces.

LOL! I don't think I'll bother unless one comes along as a bit of a bargain but it's cleared up what I was wondering.
Probably more of a ball ache than what it's worth but thanks guys
