Rear Stub Axles

So I need some more room on the back of my Clio and have been looking at ways to narrow the rear track (I run wide wheels with a low offset) I noticed that 172 rear stub axles are about 8mm thinner each side than 182 ones. Can I just run 172 ones on my 182 therefore lowering the track by 16mm overall? Not fussed on ABS as I have all that removed anyway.

I don't see why not.

I have a pair off of my ph1 if you want a pair.

Are the PH1 and PH2 182 the same then? I thought it was just PH2 172 Cup that were thinner?
