Rear wheel bearings

Grinding noise coming from back of car, seeing as I have had new brake shoes I am guessing that its one of the rear whell bearings, any way I can test them?

Jack the car up and rock the wheel at 12 and 6 o clock positions and 3 and 9 o clock positions if there is play the bearing is probably worn, normally though bearing make a whirring/humming noise. Is the drum getting really hot after driving?

Sounds like its brake related as bearings whine usually and over a period of time

Wrong pads? , piston sticking ? pads just bedding in?
