Rear wiper arm motor

On my mk2 ph1 Clio (x reg) I've tried to replace the. rear wiper arm,unfortunately after buying 2 wiper arms Ive ran into same problem - spindle is too thick on wiper motor and on both occasions I've bought arms for a1998 to 2001 model. As I now have 2 wiper arms I was wondering if a post 2001 motor would fit the mk2 ph1.
