rear wiper goes when i indicate right ?

i got a small electircal issue, rear wiper goes very slowly and at the same time as the right indicator flashes, so i presume i am getting some short from the indicator wire ? also it goes when i put the car in reverse, which is quite good, but it don't go the full way and back, so its not that good. where could this fault like, i have changed the rear spoiler a few times so could i have caused a wiring issue up the top of the boot lid ? or would it be by the rear wiper ? wiring ? i did once remove the electircal socet to the rear wiper to stop this happening. also if i put the hazard switch on the rear wiper moves a bit each time the indicators flash.

Check the earthing lead in the boot. Its on the passenger side around 1 foor in from the rear light need to pull the rear boot cside cover away to get to it.

now i think i got my Amp earth lead going near their would that be causing a problem ? Thanks edde

hey edde you were complete correct about that earth wire, the nut wasn't even on tight, it was like just on the end of the bolt thing, such a small wire too, so i did it up by 1cm !!!! now that problem is sorted, got another problem now, when i put the car in reverse, and press the brake, i hear an indicator noise !!! ?????? i presume some indicator is going, any earth wires i can check ? its dark now so i will go see what indicators flash !!

i had that... i hadnt plugged the connection back into the rear cluster

mm, its the right indicator goes on and the reverse light goes off !!!!, is their another earth wire, or could the rear light cluster be the problem as i got it from a scrappy and it had some water in it ?

the connectors are in ok, everything works on the rear clusters, brake lights reverse lights, fog lights, lights, but when you do this strange reverse thing. still its much better than having the rear wiper going, that was a joke.

The rear wiper in my 172 goes when i reverse too.

lol, glad u got it sorted,

my reno problem is when i hold finger on driver window up when it closes fully the hazards flash once, but if i flick it inot auto up its fine.
