what does it mean when that flashes up?

i was coming round a corner, put my foot down to about 4.5k it flashed up so backed off :S. it never came on again.

Check brake fluid, do it now and drive carefully to the garage.

as above, usually a sign of low brake fluid. Happens on long, sweeping corners.
