refilling pas system

having removed and replaced the engine from the 172 it is now time to refill the PAS. How do i do this ? Read somewhere that i fill up the reservoir and run the car while turning the wheel back and forth ? Any further bleeding required ?

That's pretty much it mate, after you have done everything, leave it for a bit ad return and top it up also.]

It'll drain quickly as you're turning the wheel back and forth, keep an eye on it.

cheers. i have just boufgt a litre of valvoline PAS fluid . should be ok ? Type D whatever that means !

if the system was empty you may need more than a litre.

also put front wheels in the air and turn lock to lock about 4 times and check level each time you turn to full lock.
