can you relocate the induction kit on a RT?

i know its on top of the throttle body, what would i need to put it behind the front grill, jus some tubing and jubilee clips?

ta! patty

i asked K-tec if they would think bout designin one but they said they aint interested!

i would love to know how to relocate it! i think it would be as simple as some metal tubin!

i guess lookin at rhyss post u would jus need to check diameter of the inlet and get pipe to match and jus secure it on?!

You couldnt relocate it behind the grill, cause the rediator is there!!

Get someone to make you a pipe and relocate if above where the cold air feed for the airbox attatches... or get get alu tubing and do the same..

Patty, even if it was slightly larger your going to be attatching it using jubilee clips anyway so it wouldnt matter..

to b honest i havent really looked at the motor in any way i jus read rhyss post and fancied doin it...

worth askin a few ppl to see what happens tho,

essex lad post up here wen u ask, id like to see if it could b done...

It would be a piece of piss to do, just keep the bracket that help to hold the airbox feed in place and strap the tubing with that...

will do! i agree wit Soneji best place is next to the battery where the cold air feed is!

its only the question of where to get the pipin and wot to use!

yeh i agree to reuse the tubin, jus thinkin its def better to use bigger pipe and put the induction kit there.

i see on rhyss he used a cavalier k and n which could b cheapo and easy too.

im gonna pick up a 16v bumper so i guess i could remove the fogs and install a cold air pipe there

Whats the point? Next to the battery is where the OE air feed feeds the air too, its the coldest part of the engine bay..... use cable ties to attatch it to the battery mount as well... as for what to use just go to halfords and buy Greenfilter pipeing....

If you wnated to do that breakout youd be better cutting two holes and getting pipes in that way between the fogs.. like in this pic... I know its a ph3 but you could do it on an RT bumper...

And incase nobody knows what Im talking about its the blue holes next to the fogs, you can get it from demon tweaks for about £10 for 1-1.5 meters.. diff colours too

would securing it with jus jubilee clips be a safe thing to do tho, what i mean is would it hold it there strongly?

and yeh i know what ur on about mate!!

im jus concerned that it may come off cus the jubilee clips wouldnt be very secure?"!

iv never thought of buyin one before so i havent bothered lookin at em! jus the idea of relocation seems a lot better

cus i cant be arsed to go and check, does anyone know the diameter of the air inlet on the engine?

Its about three inches.... but K&Ns are only held on with Jublee.. cause its sucking in not blowing out!!! so it would make no difference if you use jublee clips at both ends.. just dont be a poof when tightening them!

all good, think i will go up halfords tommorrow in there sale to look 4 a cheap and huge induction kit to try this with, sounds like a good possibility for power gains (even if they aint very big power gains)

It is simple! Your just using a bit of alu piping! lol Youll need to get a small nose cone for your breather hose, I think you can get Pipecross ones...

if u r gonna do it mate, u gotta make sure ur gonna do it right

iv got too much of a history of messin simple jobs up ;)

  19 16V

That much is true... have a look for tiny little pipercross boxes cause you need something for your breather....
