Remap/Chip but not for a Clio :)

Hi guys,

Selling my 172 on throttle bodies soon and wanting to get a 2.0 HDI 306 turbo diesel.

These are about 90 bhp as std.

Anyone recommend any companies who remap/chip these?

Anyone have one or know someone that has one and done it? What gains?

Turbo diesel cars are better for chipping than petrols so I should imagine I will see slightly better gains for less money than I did for my 172 lol.

Ta,

Chris

superchips price is a fitted price though isnt it, not sure about the other one.

Good job really as it's a remap of the stock ecu:D

I had a chipped 306 HDi Dturbo. Didn't set the world on fire but was miles better than standard. Great chassis too. Guy who did mine reckoned that ones he'd done before were between 115 and 120 bhp, but the extra midrange torque was were it really made the difference.

Indeed, the ones for £200-£300 are usually piggy back boxes... Not very advisable in my opinion.

Superchips do a great job even with their preset maps, they are flashed onto the ECU so the only way to tell anything has been done is by having a dynograph printed, but that hardly proves anything.

I'm not sure about you, but declaring a 25% performance gain would cripple me. My insurers wanted £400 to declare a 0-10% increase in power from a stainless exhaust !!

pmurray does the ecu flashes, not hardware jobs like installing piggybacks.

Piggybacks would be useless to me as I don't want to mod the car further.

It needs to be a remap of the current ecu but the above sounds about right. 20bhp gains with roughly 45lb.ft increase. Not bad for about £250-300.

Not bad at all, I assume the Pug is out of warranty, as this is another one of superchips premium benefits, covering damage caused by the mod. However that doesn't help Renault owners from what I hear!!

Superchips would laugh if you told them Renault won't replace the AC as the superchip caused the damage:rasp:

they have impressive torque as it is, should become a real overtaking demon with the extra torque. My ex flat mate used to piss all over my 205gti in his standard M reg one when it came to overtaking.

hows it affect the fuel economy though as the early ones werent that great in terms of diesel MPG?

The HDis use common rail along with all modern deisels.

Mine has averaged 46mpg over 3600 miles. Lots of overtaking. If I gave my car to my mum for a week I'm sure it would see figures of 60+ around town.
