Obviously will be a problem when the box shats itself.

I would buy one if they were 172 prices. Quite why someone would buy one unless they are absolutely minted is beyond me...why would you spend so much on a Clio? Hot hatches are becoming sports cars nowadays with price tags ti matchm A decent hot hatch should cost no more than 15 grand brand new imo

Oh. About the same as you get from every other turbo powered car from a remap then.

I paid £13500 for my 1st 182 and that was ten years ago. Back then I could go into classy places in leeds and only pay £2.50 a pint for lager - now it's £4.50 at least.

Moral of the story - hot hatches and beers in leeds have both got more expensive in the last ten years.

I bet you're not paid 40% more for doing the exact same job though?

We can't help the inflating cost of things, but it does make them far less achievable for target markets.

In other news, it wouldn't matter if they achieved 400hp from the beggar, it still wouldn't sell as well as the fiesta. 😂

You can spend £53k on an abarth 500...

The new edc clio is roughly the same price as a mk3 200 with the best options, so not more expensive!

What's more worrying, is why it only made 190hp before the map!

These things are supposed to be 200hp or there abouts are they not?

Renault upto it again then... Add another 10hp, no one will ever find out.

Pretty much every other turbo car makes more power than quoted, not bloody less.

most turbo charged Renaults make over book figure too so id say either this RR is a bit conservative, its a poor engine or 200edc's in general are rubbish lol!
my Twingo GT made 105bhp standard, my Gordini 112bhp and my dci 100 107bhp and the meganes seem to all put out good numbers

Standard is measured in PS isn't it? I think it's a much better looking map than standard, moved that torque into a much more usable range, shame it starts to drop off towards the top but I'd of thought that would be a very handy little Clio!!

I bought my wife her Clio 200 EDC with cup pack roughly this time last year, as standard I found it under powered. it really wasn't the performance I'd expected from best part of 200bhp in a relatively small car.

I eventually decided to say stuff the warranty and get it remapped. It did improve the car quite a bit and its continued to improve as the engine got some miles on it. It's not going to take your arms off with oodles of torque but Engine wise I'd say it was worthwhile having the remap done.

The box has been fine with the extra power. The box its self is capable of quick gear changes if you use it manually all the time. The problem it has is the software that controls it in auto modes. It's awful, in fact just about all the electronics on the car are poor if you ask me. Everything seems under developed and lacks polish.

Something I'm really hoping for is a gearbox remap. My GTRs gearbox also wasn't great when I first had it but once I'd had the box remapped it really improved the cars drive ability. The second somebody offers a gearbox remap for the clio I have no doubt it will transform the car and make it the car it strives to be.

People knock the gearboxes saying its spoilt the car, I disagree, the poor investment in software is what's killed it. Fix the boxes control software and get a few haters behind the wheel on the tracK and I think many will come around to the EDC... I've only used the car on the track once. This was when we were at a small local track with my GTR and the Clio was as much fun as my 669bhp GTR was if not a little more fun because it's quite a small track. These things have potential, they just need investment in tuning development to release it!

Unfortunately somebody has to foot the bill for tuning development. There's not many of these EDC 200s out there yet so we either pay or tuner have no reason to develop Remaps for us :(
