Remote Central Locking

Right i have a mk1 phase 2.

Its got Remote central locking but the sensor is next to the sunroof, now it works but not from any distance because of line of sight it can only see about 1 meter around the vechile, it works from further away if im say somewhere like floor below in a car park and i can see the car.

anyway round this? just seems a bit rubbishy

The only way round is to have a new alarm fitted with a better placed sensor !!

the problem with the early plips is they work using infared signals.if anything is between the plip and reciever or you just dont point it in its direction the reciever wont pick up the signal.
