Removing a RT Engine...

  Civic Vtec y0
Picking up a RT next week, and I am going to be stripping the b**ch!

Just wondering if any one has a step by step guide of how to remove it? Or just give me a general idea of what order I need to do things in. I have a good basic knowledge of clios so dont see it as much of a probelm? Or will it be?

Cheers

Hmmm I wouldn't want to be stripping and rebuilding(?) an engine with only 'basic' knowledge? When you say good basic knowledge how far does this extend? Removing an engine isn't easy but isn't a huge challenege, but if you want to strip the engine and rebuild it you would need more than basic knowledge matey!

pish easy.

drain box oil and coolant

remove radiator and fan dissconnect heater matrix pipes

underneath undo the gear link rod from the box (13mm nut and bolt), drive out offside shaft roll pin, undo dog bone. Depending on age unclip the lambda wire

whip the bonnet off, battery out and battery tray as well, remove the speedo cable from the box, unclip throttle cable, dissconnect the downpipe from the manifold, dissconnect wiring from nearside inner wing and ecu on the offside, unplug charcoal canister pipe, dissconnect fuel pipes

if it has power steering I remove the pump from the engine and tie it out the way

undo 16mm nut on offside engine mount, undo the gearbox mount bracket (it won't drop), get hoist hooked up

wheels off undo strut to hub bolts and pull the offside shaft clear of the output shaft and undo the 3 13mm bolts that hold the nearside inner gaiter in and pull it clear (or remove the shafts totally fromt he hubs which I prefer)

now pull the lump out jobs a good un
