Removing Front Side Strips

When removing the front sidestrips on a Mk2 Ph2, does the front bullet ala the "16V" "2.0 16V" part need to come off as well?

yep, it's connected to the side strips. just pops off

Ayet, just gave it a tug the now and it's all come off.

Bloody hard to shift the front ones though, no easier way then using a flat headed screw driver to prise them forward?

did you unscrew the screw on the inside of the door? they just slide off after you undo the screw no need to prising or breaking the clips!

Took the cap off the door then there was some clip that I couldn't move.

Used a screwdriver to lever the first one off but the other wouldn't come at all, is it meant to screw off?

mine had a screw then you just slide it off towards the back off the car but mines a phase 1. there is a guide on the guides section which is called spoiler and bump stip removal of something like that? have a look on there i think that is for a ph2! good luck

Yeah it's an awkward bugger too cause there's not much leverage on the front strips as there is on the back ones

So I had the right idea of just using a screwdriver to give me a bit more leverage aye?

Well I was gonna try that but didnt want to leave marks on the paint..

I was just using it on the outside, couldnae leaver it off far enough to get it from the front side.

when i did it i took the cap off from inside the door, used a screw driver to push out the pin (which is below the first tab) then it popped out meaning it could be slid towards the back of the car

Grand, thats excactly what I was doing yesterday, just the NS refused to budge lol.

This is all I see when having the lug off!! No pin or screw, hard to lever off and yes those are my screwdriver marks

What have you to do to this clip to remove the side strips ?

Took a bit of man power to remove mine, found it is best to get somebody to sit on the seat inside the car and hold the door steady, then it took me two people to slide it off!
