Removing gear knob

  More poke than viagr
Just got a new gearknob and was wandering what is the best way to remove the standard one.

I will probably resort to hacking it up but wanted to keep it in nice condition incase i needed it again...is there some secret way to remove it?

any help appreciated

Get a hairdryer, blow that on it for a few minutes... then get it in a clamp and get some decent plyers on it and it should then twist off.

Thats what my mate did but tbh with mine I cut the rubber then plyerd off the plastic cap thats underneath it. Actually wish I hadnt botherd, would have been a better idea to get the plastic centre on the original sprayed and slapped a new gear decal on it

Good luck anyway mate

fold your front seats down, climb in the back, put one knee on the back of the seats and pull like fckin mad, until it pops off, ski mask or some sort of very hard face protector is recommended, gear knob in the mush ftl

I had to use vice grips on my civic I had but I bought a titanium replacement, screwed straight on. Was pricey (£45) but fitted the hand so good and it being titanium it warmed up to your hand alot quicker. I hate the clio one, so cold. It if was easier I would change mine.
