Removing Induction kit on a 172

  Red 197 & Laguna S-T
Right folks. We have bought ourselves a 172 but unfortunately it has an Induction Kit on it. How easy are they to remove?

Easy, what type of induction kit is it?

Are you replacing it with the original airbox or another induction kit,

  Red 197 & Laguna S-T
It's a samco sport and i want to replace it with an original airbox.

Any ideas how much a Renault air box is?

Also, why is this pipe not connected to anything? When i put it back to standard will i connect to something?

That should be the breather pipe, it will lead to a metal "nozzle" coming out of the block near the throttle body, i think the origonal airbox will fit onto this but im sure another member can confirm :)

It will fit onto it, but you might have to trim some of the samco hosing off to make it fit in.

You have 2 options:

1. Fit the standard airbox onto the samco hose (you may have to trim the samco a bit as mentioned above)

2. Fit the standard elbow (do you have one?), then you will need the pipe from the breather outlet on the back of the engine to the standard elbow

We're going for option 2. Yes i do have the standard elbow.

Personally id opt for option 1, better air flow, unless you want a completly standard bay.

Yes i want a completely standard bay and also can make money by selling that samco pipe. Although...
What everyones thoughts on best panel filter for the 172? Standard Renault paper or aftermarket one?

Fitted in the end with no problems whatsoever :) Very happy with the result and we feel the car runs smoother now :)
