Removing OLD Polish Marks from Plastic Trim

Hello, my Panda has quite a bit of plastic trim on it, and some clown has managed to get polish all over it. I want it to look like it's original black plastic colour, what product would be best to use to get rid of the white polish marks completely?

Okay, do any of the above actually work? If not, I want some serious answers please.

smooth peanut butter is ace. silicone based products are pretty s**t and only last so long. that properly cleans it.

I assume the vinegar will remove them and the pb just hides them ?

I just use a bit of water on a micro fibre cloth that gets mine off takes a while but it does come off

Maybe add a little bit of soap and it might get it off even better

Always used a school rubber me. If the plastic is grained and the rubber wont remove the deeper residue, get vinegar, petrol or neat IPA out. All these work. Try to avoid heavy rubbing as you will end up fading the trim.

Yeah it's very slightly grained on some bits. Shall I apply the vinegar using an every day cloth?

Personally i use a microfibre mate as the pile will get into the grain. You can use a normal cloth as long as its clean and dont rub to hard, just work the vinegar in.

Plastic trim is very absorbent so the best method to do use IMO is.

Heat up the trim with a hair dryer this opens the pours in the plastic then clean with some form of APC as strong as needed, noting it will remove wax from painted s**t if strong.

Now it should be clean. USe the same method to apply a trim gel for a much longer lasting effect.

^^ Using Apc is also fine but my worry is that plastic trim always has paint surrounding it. I prefer to get away with the apc route so i dont strip my waxes or sealants off.

It's okay, I don't have any waxes or sealents on there! I'm not big into detailing and stuff but would like to start. I don't know what APC is

All Purpose Cleaner. Get some daisy from Tesco, Its about £1 and dilutes really well.

Then use what you wish then, lol. Get some wax on it afterwards!!!!!!!!

WD40 on a MF Jamie. Plus a bit of elbow grease. Then clean them down with a decent All Purpose Cleaner. The active ingredients break the polish down. It is the same idea with Linseed oil.
