Removing rear seats

I have the rear isofix bar removed but now am onto the torx bolt.

So far I've turned it half a turn, used loads of WD40, ruined 2 torx bits (one of which was fairly expensive  ) and I think i have pretty much mashed the head :(

Any tips for getting this out?

The car is quite high mileage and it has never been out so is probably rusted to f**k!

if you can get to the thread underneath the car, wire brush it and WD

could also lock a couple of nuts onto thread under car and use those to wind it up if there's enough room. can't remember if you can get at it at all

I drilled into the screw head on mine when this happened. It's turned the Torx hole into a slightly bodged looking Hex hole that an allen key fits into.
After soaking it overnight in WD40 it came out easily and the bolt can still be screwed in and out with ease.

Haven't the isofix bolts got a hex head aswell as torx?

Yes, they came out easy, its the last one holding the seat in that only has a torx head.

i had to heat it up. come oput a piece of piss then

Was going to try that, but the gas regulator has blown so cant get a steady enough flame :(

Going to get someone to weld a nut on it tomorrow instead i think.

Impact gun, then up,down,up,down,up,down over and over again even if it's only a tiny movement at first. Then with regular lashings of WD40 or Quantum lube it will come out easy peasy. Don't however hang of the end of a lever bar as you'll round everything lol!

If you've properly mashed the fitting, tap a larger torx or hex bit into it and repeat the above process.

Exactly how I mashed the head :D

Got the fucker out tonight though, used epic amounts of welding as the welded on nuts (and a bolt once too) were just snapping off without turning the bolt. Eventually it came though :D
