That’s what I thought. Maybe worth a little shot first, if no real improvements then get the pro's in.

Cheers for the quick reply

I'd rather you than me matey...

Most have given up polishing/defect removal by hand, and bought a porter cable polisher, far easier to work with for near perfect results..

Working on black cars especially was a nightmare before I bought my PC - even if you think you car looks good without it you will be amazed the difference it can make. Even compared to the "bodyshop rotary" look its a million times better.

Where abouts are you based? Might just be best to go and speak to someone who can get the paint in good condition and then you can just maintain it afterwards.

Its a silver car. I thought I might try and have a go, but I think I will definitely be saving the pennies now and get it done of a pro early next year.

I didn't think they were all that deep or bad, but the car got a good clean at the weekend and it’s brought my attention to them even more

You may get away with a good polish by hand on Silver in most lights the swirls will be hard to spot.

Yeah silver is such a good colour to keep looking mint. My dad can clean his car and wipe over with a QD and looks like its just been freshly detailed. Was considering swapping my 172 for a 182 a while ago and was looking at the silver, think it looks reall nice with the anthracite wheels.

Black will break your heart :(

Well in that case I may just give it ago. Is carlack 68 the stuff to go for or is there anything else you would recommend on a similar budget for silver?

^ BUY BUY BUY!!!

I would only buy "boring" coloured Clios really - black and silver, although would get a grey one if there was a CS in that, or a white.

Other colours look good but just wouldn't want to live with them.
