removing the radio stalk control

has anyone done this? my headunit doesn't allow me to use is anymore and was wondering whether it was an option to remove it. is there anything that could blank the hole left?

Ye preety easy to remove it actually, remove the plastics surrounding the steering wheel then the stalk basicly clips off from behind. Remove the connector and job done
