Removing white stripes!

Im wanting to remove the whit stripes on my 182 but have been told that it might be a different colour under them as the rest of the paint has faded, and that it will leave marks from the glue, anyone any ideas or done it?

a good polish should bring the colour back up tbh. if you get a heat gun and apply heat to the stripes they should peel off easily. as for the glue you can get special label remover/tar&glue remover, should be pretty cheap really and a bit of elbow grease will see it come off well.
