I think it goes...
AS long as the garage is VAT registered and uses Renault parts then its ok.

Not sure tho, mines never been serviced yet.

You can have it service at any garage (its called block exemption) as long as there VAT registered and they use Renault parts.

However if you dont ahve the work done at Renault them in order to keep your paint warently intact youll nedd to go there and get someone to sign saying its ok and alos you wont get any software updates ie ecu.

Can a VAT registered garage do warranty work and charge it to Renault?
Nope otherwise you could se a load of work being made up ie replacing parts which arnt broken cos the garage is a bit quiet

My extended warranty is through RAC and if I need anything doing I have to phone a number and would be told which is their recommended garage who would carry out the work. So far what has been done has been through my local garage as I wouldnt like to leave my car anywhere else, especially at Reg Vardy which is now the Renault Dealer. I have had a new washer bottle, two gaskets and a thermostat, which cost £36 and a couple of chocolate eclairs for the mechanic!
