Renault clip software

Hi all!

I already posted this in the other board, but didnt really know where it fitted... so its here too

Does anybody know anything about the renault clip software? Does it require specific hardware to work, or just a serial obd-2 port connector like the scantool or similar?

its generally on only clip computers which are only regular laptops.

But they cost a freaking fortune and are near impossible to get hold of.

Ive never seen just the software.

The software is not a problem... its the hardware Im concerned about. Will it work from a standard computer? Ive seen the dealers machines, and yeah, they look like standard laptops... but whats the interface to the car? Will it work with a standard ISO OBD-II interface interpreter, or do they use some custom protocol implemented in hardware?
