renault deposit

does anybody know how much deposit renault will ask me for if i ask for a custom built renault clio 182? can it ever differ or is it a set £100 for instance?

dont worry about the deposit - watch the finance.

I was offered 3.0%, but when the printed figures arrived they had added on all sorts of crap such as tyre cover and gap insurance.

I got them to strip all this off (eventually) and paid 900 under list including finance fees - 9800 + 300 fees for a 11k car.

Renault is more expensive, but renault in leicester are doing 0% finance at the mo . Which probably works out cheaper than supermarket in the end when you add in finance costs.

I didnt have to leave any deposit on the V6.

If you can afford finance than I would get a loan. You can sell the car as and when you please. If you make sure the loan has no early repayment penalties on it, then if you did get shot of the car you can clear the loan without losing out.

0% is great but are you likely to keep the car for the duration of the finance (say 3 years) if not are you going to PX for another new car.

If you cant answer a definate yes to those 2 questions get yourself a loan.

By the way GAP covers the difference between the insurance company pay out and the outstanding finance on your car if it is nicked or written off. without it you have to cover the difference to the finance company. Its a one off payment of around 250 usually and it saved me £2000 once. Worth considering.
