Dont go to Renault for it. I or any HU shop can supply you with the same or better unit for much cheaper.

Why do people say this ?? i have used sony headunits in the past.. okay they may not have the sounds of the alpine but they put out quite a high sound quality, and none of my headunits have ever failed electornically (or any other way for that matter)

your right, sony stuff normally is a wee bit dearer for the same item with simmilar features from another manufacturor...but I love sony stuff and plan on sticking with the brand.

This model is listed on unbeatable.co.uk for £329.94 so its not so bad a price.

Jeremy - I assume this price includes the adaptors needed to use the display and stalk controls?

I think thats actually a pretty good price from Renault. Takes it to about £325 with VAT which is a good price for that stereo (one on Ebay for £349 on buy it now, and one bidding with a few hours left thats at £235 and will no doubt break £300 before bidding ends). Then youve got the £50 adaptor that is in with the Renault price, that you would normally have to pay out as extra. Only catch could be how much Renault charge for fitting it.

Im very tempted as Id just resigned myself to not bothering with an aftermarket unit due to incompatibility with the factory changer and stalk/HUD.

Jeremy,do you know which adapter they use? If so can you post the make and model? Thanks

Also, what happens to the existing cd-changer under the passenger seat?

Im very interested in car audio. i read up alot and listen to alot of different hus

IMO sony are poorly designed, sh1t interface and sound inferior to alpine/pioneer.

this is just my thoughts and im only offering advice. its your car and you can do what you wish!
