Renualt Mk1 V6 vs Honda CTR

ermmmm well thats a hard one as i hate the look of the mk1s but love the mk2s and like the ctrs lol

thats diffacult as they are really 2 totaly different cars.

v6 is not as good car in my opinion but then again if i had to choose id get the v6 its more of a special car

I dont think that, for most people, the choice will come down to these two.

If youre seriously considering the V6, I think it likely that youd also be considering something like an Elise alongside it - not a CTR.

  Elise/VX220/R26

Obvious answer is that the CTR is a better practical car, V6 is 10000% more desirable/exclusive/characterful even with its handling traits. I would go for the CTR simply for practical reasons. But if I didnt need 4 seats it would be a vee every time

I dont think its a tough call...............mid engined & RWD has it every time..............unless you want to choose on looks or practicallity then its down to need / personal preferance eh :D

isnt the V6 a grp 20 and ctr grp 17? plus ctr is way more economical and common. Not really two cars youd put together?

If youve got the money and not bothered about the practicality get the V6 while you have the chance!

A CTR is a sensible car choice! get one of them anytime!

The mk1 v6 looks and sounds great, the CTR is just as fast (if not considerably faster;))

Personally Id prefer to polish the v6:D

Not sure I agree with that cause FWD & mid engined would leave the CTR standing...............and it wont catch up.................just a thought eh :D

You can get a mk1 V6 for a bargain £13k these days - maybe less if you haggle.

I get 27.5mpg out of mine.

As others have said, theyre not really comparable - practical & fairly commonplace 4 seater 4 pot screamer, v/s exclusive 2 seater 6 pot monster.

Theyre very different cars, but personally Id choose the Vee every time, though if I had to lug a family around, or maybe had more points on my license, Id go for the CTR (nearly bought one a couple of years ago!).

Stus v6 bear in mind the 0-100 of both cars is practically the smae (CTR a tad fatser if you want to split hairs it will and does catch up, which means its faster once rolling.

Yes all the above is based on v boxed stats and drivers can make a difference but the post wasnt about 1 driver vs another ;)

V6- Dream mini supercar (Which turns into a nightmare when you realise its all show and no go!)

CTR - Taxi

V

v6Max

I had to make the choice - test drove both and bought the V6. The CTR has dull, lifeless steering, only felt quite quick and it just wasnt that special an experience.

I spend a fair amount of time on track and dont see many CTRs and when I have done theyve been nothing special in the handling department. The only exception was a charged one I saw at Bedford 3 weeks ago - the guy and spent 21k on mods (i.e. in addition to the car at 15k) - it was quite quick and had trick suspension.

The maximum MPG I get out of mine is 33mpg and lowest is...dont ask!

LOL ... Im tracking around 21.5mpg at the mo and thats with me not really trying much apart from the odd blast. Short journeys and low speeds dont help.

I do a lot of miles on the motorway, so its spending most its life in 6th gear, though I do give it some punishment when I can!

While I think of it, I remember renault writing to me whilst I was on the waiting list for the V6, and they had a spec comparison sheet, which compared the Vee against the Audi TT 225, Porsche Boxster, and Subaru Impreza WRX (if I remember correctly), so I guess those were the sort of cars they intended the Vee to be competing against in the showrooms, and NOT the CTRs & Golf GTis of this world.
