Repairable?

A friend thinks so, and without too much trouble apparently. A trip to Rentech then my mate's bodyshop at the weekend will tell. Hope it is as the fouling on the wing seems more severe now...makes me wince every time I open/close it LOL.

Take it to a bodyshop, get it estimated, pay for it get it fixed, live your life.

look at the wing has it moved ? could be some think easy. or just bodyshop it go to a good one and shop about ask to look at ther work. your find some realy good places and some realybad ones

got any gap between the wing and the headlight ? that would indicate the wing being pushed backward.

It looks bad but it's not as bad as it looks, a case of taking the door of and realigning it back up, a renault specialist should able to sort that out.

Had a similar problem with family's 61reg grand scenic. Wind took it and that happened. Window also wouldn't play right. Took it into Renault who adjusted it and it's now fine. They did say watch out and be extra careful as it has made it weaker and could end up needing a new hinge if it happens again.

Making an effort to keep this one in better condition than my 172 Cup.

Opinion from my friend is it's easily sortable - bodyshop he uses will whip the door off, then use lasers, a big bar, a hammer and some magic,

All for something like £200. Bargain if possible. Going to see him on Saturday.

doors too far forward (towards the wing) just either needs adjusting (if its bolted to the door or A post), or as someone said above, a good whack with a sledge hammer with a chisel on the hinges to send it back slightly

Tame panel beaters. They can do magic. I've seen our two work wonders with just a block of wood and a big fook off hammer.

flol... Was the gentle persuasion a large mallet by any chance?

Nope.

They spent 20 minutes strategically placing said lumps of wood in the hinge area and gently closing the door on them until they'd teased everything back to where it should be.

I couldn't watch while they were doing it, so spent the time crawling over his mint old old old Lotus Elan.

If I'm being picky, the panel gaps on the door are very slightly out with the leading edge gap being narrower than it is on the passenger door. Difficult to tell though...

^That can now be adjusted by adjusting the strike pin, dead easy to sort, is the door sitting too low?? If so slacken the pin, few small taps upwards, re tighten, check, repeat untill happy
