Hi, my 182 is only 4 weeks old, done 960 miles and has been into the dealers 4 times for the same fault!. The director of the dealers gave me 2 options this afternoon:
1
So they want to take your car with 900 miles on and give you a car with 3000 miles with no cost to them. SOUNDS LIKE THE WORST DEAL EVER FOR YOU AND THE BEST DEAL FOR THE DEALER!!!!Quote: Originally posted by highlander67 on 20 December 2004
First option I could trade my 182 in for the 6 month old 182 demonstrator which has the same spec as mine or I could trade in my 182 for a new one. He is going to give me figures tomorrow. What sort of discount should I ask for? Do you think the demonstrator would be a good idea? The demonstrator has only done around 3,000 miles and there is no sign of damage on it. I dont want to lose out on a new deal. Should I push for a good discount.

I think a replacement would be disproportionate or cause significant inconvenience to the seller. a repair would be as effective as a replacement as the car has only 960 miles, or ask for a price reduction this would be more appropriate for minor defects such as yours!
this will make sense if you read the clicky!
if you accept a fix and a reduction in price make it clear that you do not accept the faults and if any more should arrise or old ones persist you will expect Repudiation (end of contract) and damages !
Thats all well and good. But what if the dealer cant/wont fix the problem, then IMO its becomes a bigger problem!
He has said that in 4 attempts they have been unable/unwilling to fix the problem.
