Replacement speakers in Cup

  172 Cup

I need advice of replacement speakers in my cup. Ill only be going as far as replaceing the head unit (no amps etc).

What can you recomend with a tight budget in mind?

i got some pioneer emotions mate from that mcs-direct place not sure of the web address ultra cheap and have a good rms power rating well worth it!!! as long as you have a 4 x 45w or 4 x 50w then you will always bonus with speaker upgrades the standard cd players are just sh*te!!!

These JBLs in the first link, £25 a pair. Anyone got these, and are they the best I can get for the money?

JBL GTO 525e £24.99 (were £39.99) 5.25" coaxials

(I know they wont be the best, but the standard speakers are mince. Still using the standard headunit - for the moment)

Im interested in those speakers too.

Just check my cup out, an i can see they will fit in the rear next to the seats, but the ones in the doors only have 2 screws, what should i replace these with?

Yed better not get the last pairs - I posted first! ;)

So, anyone got an opinion on them?
I bought some of these/fitted them at the weekend - pretty good overall, and much better than standard - well worth £50 for 4. Still needs more bass in the back though :), hopefully get my sub installed soon!

yes but as standard you have companents up front i thought, hence the speakers in the dash.

Yes theres a tweeter in the dash which will obviously stay in place. I dont think exchanging the standard 1 way door speakers for 2 way speakers will affect this much if at all.

Same as Griff - Im not really an ICE person and cant justify spending sh*tloads on a sound system. Ill be keeping the standard headunit as well.

Im leaving the tweeter in the dash alone - bugger disassembling the dash to change it. I dont see why thered be a problem changing the 1-way door speaker for a 2-way speaker.

Theres not a crossover restricting the frequencies sent to the front door speakers in a standard Clio set up? I wouldnt have thought so...

The first day I got the clio I put some 3 ways in the front doors that a friend had going spare and they sounded fine, nothing special but better than standard. So there isnt a problem with changing to 2 ways.

i so want to keep it standard.. but with my ice history im gonna find it hard ;) again, 2 ways in the fronts will be fine, not competition ideal, but much better than standard
