Replacing Alternator

Looks like my alternator has gone and its time for a replacement.

Getting one from a local alternator place if they have any as Renault prices are just daft.

Anyone got any tips or advise as to how easy it is to fit on a Mk 1 172, and roughly how long it would take?

ive not actually seen where it is on a 172, but if its anythin like a 16v/Williams or infact my old 1.4RT engine, then be prepared for it to be as awkward as possible

Doing anything in a 172 engine bay is a nightmare.

not a nice job. youll need to take the bumper and grill off to get in.
