Replacing clutch on V6

  V6 Mk1/Beat/E320/Mcoupe
Can anyone will confirm whether the engine needs to be taken out when replacing a clutch on the V6?

My gearbox needed to be removed on my old V6, so I asked them to put a new clutch in at the same time. They didn't mention about the engine being dropped out, but then again, I didn't ask.

i would imagine it would be an engine out job, on my 1.2 my mate dropped the sub frame and droped the engine down a little then he had to modify the tool you use for aligning the gear box up or somthing (not got a clue what it is, cylinder shaped thing that was supplyed with the new clutch??) and he was able to do it that way, the renault mechanics told him to do that because if not the engine would have to come out.

  Forester Sti, SC Clio V6,
It is not an engine out job - it is a remove subrame from below and drop gearbox job - nice!

Scott'll do it down at SG Motorsport Chippenham

I seem to remember that the V6 is one of the quickest clutch cahnge outs.

Do a search but may be with the new board will not go back that far.

I cannot remember who had one changed out but they maqy still be on the board.

I seem to think it was around the time some one was offering a H.D. clutch

I am buying the clutch from Scott. I wish he can do the install for me, but too bad my car is in Hong Kong.
