Replacing exhaust mounts



  Mazda Mx5 + Clio 172
My cars exhaust mounts are buggered lol got 2 shiny new ones from nwp and now just need to fit them. For some reason tho the back one that is on ATM is not standard!! How easy is it to change? Not been under to have a look yet but does anyone know what men's tools I'll need??!?! Just so I don't go in there totally blind!!! Thanks guys

If you don't have a ratchet and a 13mm socket, you can get at most of the bolts with a 13mm ring spanner and a very small adjustable spanner (like a 8 inch).

I had to blather my old bolts in ac 90 (like wd40 but not) then carefully remove them going 3/4 of a turn anti clock wise then 1/4 of a turn clock wise. (this is to clear the crap out of the threads as you loosen the bolt off)

I changed mine a few weeks back, took me 15 mins to change the 2 on the rear silencers.
It's a simple job so you should be fine with that task ;)

Yeah the bolts do snap grr!

Best to pack the mounts, I got them from NWP and started to sag again after 6 months

Never had a problem undoing my mounts. I find plenty of copper grease on them help keep them nice and easy to undo
