replacing rear pads&discs

  gen 7 celica
Have had a very enjoyable night in the freezing cold with rain p*****g down. I have been trying to replace my back disk brakes and pads. I opted for the ktr fast road discs which are fine. The brake pads i have chosen are FERODO DS2500. I have the pads all set up in the calliper and the disc has been put on but the two holes in the caliper which join it to the hub are not matching up with the holes in the hub. The piston has been wound correctly back. It appears that the brake pads are to thick. Is this correct is it possible or am i making another mistake. Any help appreciated, cheers.

same size disc i cant figure out what is wrong. I tried putting the old disc back on with the new pads in the calliper and that didn't work either so def a problem with the set up with the pads.

Its the rear disks i am changing. They have a different setup from the front. They dont have a carrier they just seem to slide into the calliper. I'm sure its the pads i am having the problem with but dont know how to fix this.

changed my rear brakes the other day, pull out the little clip holding the L shaped plate in, put that out, pull old pads out, undo the hand brake cable, undo caliper bolts and remove caliper, remove nut and pull off disc, put new disk on and caliper back on, wind piston back in with a square bar, fit pads and put l shaped plate and clip back in attatch hand brake cable, took me 45 mins.

I give in. Am going to take it to a garage 2moro so they can fix it although i am positive i have fitted everything correctly so i'll prob end up paying for labour that won't fix anything.

best thing to do is tighten the top bolt a couple of threads then put the bottom bolt in as this will give u plenty ov room to play. then tighten both the bolts in a few more threads th make sure they r goin in ok then just tighten em up.
