Replacing spoiler?

I couldn't find a guide, and haven't looked yet, but what's required to change the spoiler?

Should get my cup spoiler tomorrow so wanting to know what I'm doing :)

I imagine there's a couple of screws/bolts, but where are they and what size?

  Mk2 Ph2 172
6 screws in the boot that hold it on, then a few plastic clips under the spoiler that normally brake when you pull the spoiler off!!
Also the washer pipe and brake light wiring!!!

Putting the cup spoiler on can be a bit fiddley to get right !!

as the brake light wiring needs to be pushed though ( as you should have the extension wire ) into a hole in the tail gate and the washer pipe can be a pain to get sitting right !!! As these prevent it sitting flush

Tip
Put some towel or clothe on the roof to prevent scratches, as you will want to rest the spoiler on there,so you can get your hands under it to guide the wires and pipe !! Or have another pair of hands with you

Hmm, just attempted the first go at it and noticed a few things:

- The Cup spoiler brake light connection is different? Is this correct? How the hell do I connect it up!
- The washer tubing seems too short, no matter how I position the spoiler it seems difficult to line up, though I guess I could get a joiner and extend it slightly?
- It was a bit awkward to fit on one of the sides - i'm not sure why this was, it just didnt seem to line up as well, once screwed down it all seemed ok - is this normal?

Are they meant to be completely plug and play or am I missing something here? It's a bit of a ballache as I thought it'd be a 5 minute job!

Any help appreciated!!

Just seen this, no extension wire :(.

It's probably also the washer pipe that's leaving it sat dodgy, as it's currently not plugged in either at the moment!

Yes mate you need the plug extension that makes it plug and play
Also the washer pipe is tight and makes it difficult to sit the spoiler flush if you don't get it right

Took me a lot longer than I first thought the job would take lol

You cant purchase the extension plug from Renault separably so you're gunna have to cut the wires and join them, I very much doubt you will be able to source an extension plug on its own. Loads of people do this including me, its not a big thing at all and if anything makes it easier to fit as the extension plug is a pain in the arse to fit under there whilst pulling the washer pipe to fit, it will fit in though just takes alot of f**king about with.

You shouldn't need an extension for the washer pipe, I haven't in my last two 172's, I assume they wouldn't have shortened it on the 182's just give it a gentle pull and push it into the washer which is helpfully at a retarded angle when the spoiler is in the correct angle to be fitted.

Smashed connection, fits fine now. I still need an extension tube for the washer but it will do for now.

Real fucked off with myself though, I was using a tool and left it on the boot, forgetting about it I opened the boot and it got a bit stuck between the boot and the roof.

Managed to get it out OK, but forgot I had my spoiler half-hanging out so the Boot came down and has taken some paint off on the lip of the spoiler, and considering it was literally just sprayed im so annoyed with myself.

Now to get a touchup pen.

You tit! not as bad as my friend who put his spoiler on and then let go and it subsequently hit the floor causing several stone chips along the rear edge.

Yep, it was the most retarded thing, saw it all in slow motion but by that time it was too late.

Rushing around, tired, being a r****d on Thursdays is not fun.

So f**ked off with myself, it was literally just sprayed...
