replacing tappets cost?

has anyone had to replace there tappets on a 172cup and if so how much would that set me back

thanks mate but i dont know for sure if they need changing i have a v noisey tappet and was just bracing myself for the worst if i needed to replace them and the cost involved thanks anyway

I've got eight brand new ones that aren't needed. £50 and they're yours. That should be enough to swap out any iffy ones.

easy job to change them or does a lot of stuff have to come out ?

Cam cover/upper cam bearing carrier has to come off which means cam belt off, cams out etc. etc.

Not difficult but not for the faint hearted and you need the tools to do it.

not to sure am only saying its the tappets because it will be noisey but after about 5 mins it will go and 5 mins later it will come back ect...
plus when i slowly rev the engine the tappihg becomes faster
