Replacing the annoying fan on a mk2 172?

  Turbo'd MX-5 MK4
has anyone replaced the annoying fan on the interior of a mk2 172 before? (the one in with the map light etc), is it easy to do? have just ordered a replacement and plan to do it this weekend, advice would be greatly appreciated!

yep that's the one, I was hoping it would be clearer to see when I pick it up, but suspected it would be a case of just removing the interior light and go from there, just wanted confirmation, cheers.

i've got to that point, where it has become more of a sound that i just expect to be there, but then Mike pointed it out when I was at RenTech and its bugged me more ever since.

I hadn't even noticed this on the test drive last week but now you've mentioned it I'll no doubt be listening out for it on Saturday :(

So far i've never heard a peep out of mine, i've tried listening and I still can't hear it. Makes me wonder if it actually works at all but it must do as my climate still works fine.

how much clowt has that little fan really got?

Could you not just disconnect it?

I always thought behind the grille was an ambient temp sensor!
