Replacing wiper motor?

I've just made a trip down here and my wiper motor is shagged. Keeps stopping and smelling of burning, if it's raining tomorrow when I need to head back then I'm knackered.

Or does anyone have any idea for a temporary fix so that my wipers will work properly just to get me home?

None down here afaik. I'd happily have a look at it for you but it means travelling further west which isn't ideal.

Ahh where abouts are you? If I can make it home I'll be fine but it's raining again so not looking good! I'm surprised that there aren't any specialists down this way.

Think btm is the closest!

There used to be one in south wales but he'd take 2 years to change a cambelt etc. so very quickly closed down.

I'm in Swansea. Think some rains might be your best bet to get you home tbh

I'm home now... phew! I'd have considered Rain-x but you need to apply it when the windscreen is dry so that was out of the question. We ended up using the string method when it got bad ;) but the journey back was fine. I need a new motor now though...

Funny that both you & Sam had Trophy wiper issues in a similar part of the world within a day or two of each other...

Easy enough, just remove the wiper arms, then the scuttle panel...3 bolts holding the motor in,

Biggest pita is removing the wiper arms...
but if you have that tool it's simples :)
(best €15 I ever spent!)

Mine squeaks when in use :/
anyway to change the bearing in them?
