reset second hand clio mk3 electric power steering

Good Evening
is it possible to reset a second hand clio mk3 power steering unit to my car,the immobiliser is solid red and the cause is the power steering unit not being recognised by the ecu uch after the battery going flat,or will it require a new unit.
