Residual valves in brake lines?

I have the compbrake 4 pot kit on my car and have been told by the company, compbrake, that I should add residual valves.

This is to improve the brake pedal feel and reduce pedal travel. Has anyone got any experience of these and can explain how they work.

I would think they are fitted to cars with 4 pots is to keep more fluid between the valve and the caliper as the 4 piston calipers now need more fluid than the single standard caliper, meaning when you press the brake pedal the master cylinder will not need to travel as far.

Only a guess but could be wrong.

Makes sense. So the line has pressure in it before you press the pedal so you need less pedal movement for an equivalent pressure.

Do you want them?

They cost me £35. You can have them and the magnecor leads for £50 delivered (£20 for valves, £30 for the leads). PM me, although I need to get a set of the red magnecors first.
