Retro fit Alarm for Import

Anyone got any suggestions?

I dont want to spend a fortune but the ability to add a windows up module would be a bonus!

A make and model number would be a good start

Cheers

Oh the other thing I would REALLY like is the ability to run the alarm off the existing remote key.

I really dont want to throw more than £300 on this if I can avoid it, it has an imobiliser already so I dont need to works.

Cheers

Right Renault Sevenoaks want £375 to supply and fit their alarm, so thats out straight away.

Im open to other suggestions which will work with the key.

I spoke to another firm who cant do one to work with the key and want £220 to fit and alarm £350 to tear out the Renault stuff and fit a Cat1 Immob and Alarm but I dont really want them tearing the Reanult stuff out and its still want work with what Renault call the Plip Key

Daz mate.

If you have got a means tested student loan you can claim travel expenses.

Just say you get for example..3 10-week bus passes.

then put your claim in, they ttak150 off and then give you the rest...i claimed 400 and got 250!

I got renault to give me the laguna alarm for free, and i just have the one keyring fob. Clifford alarms and the like are complicated and usually go off in the early hours of the morning!

ClioJohn, is it kinda of a loan or do you get it free? £30 a week is ok, as its coming out of me loan, but it mounts up and I have to pay it back!

I had a Sigma M34 added to the existing Renault Immobiliser. I just use the alarm key fob to lock/unlock the car. The alarm is designed to work with the existing immobiliser. Works a treat :)

I think it cost me around £400 though. It has some very nice features though. Even though it improves on the standard one it made no insurance difference. But then does anything these days!!!

Ive decided against the Sigma now.

The fitter I found can get the original Renault upgrade alarm and fit it for £260

£400 is a lot to pay for the Sigma M series, I was quoted £250 for that alarm with the keycode pad.

Renault alarm is now fitted and working, came with Renault docs and certificates.

The guy who fitted it for me put everything in the same places as the Renault guys in Southampton where they are retro fitted to to all the UK cars. The car is now as far as I can tell, UK spec and I defy anyone apart from a Renault dealer to tell otherwise.

Even the DVLA dont have it listed as an import!

If anyone wants to get this Renault alarm the guy who did it for me (Alan) works in the SE of the UK (Maidstone area but fits at your premises) and his website is

Hope that helps someone
