Rev counter

Hi all ive got myself a 1.8 8v rsi on a p reg. The rev counter is a bit tempermental some times it will work but then other times it plain refuses to do anything. Has anyone experienced this before and what was the problem if it was found? help appreciated

i expect what happens is the dash dials are distorting,what u need to is take the dsh out,take it apart and glue the dials bk down

it cant be that because sometimes it will be working fine then it will just drop,asif the power has been cut of maybe the thing that counts the revs. any other ideas or is it a take out and look at it jobbie?
