So it has a cold limiter to protect the engine oviously. Granted when ever i have hit the limiter its only been when the temp gauge has got to normal, and not after a prolonged drive.
Should look at thermostat then. Not had the car long (3 weeks) never driven are read up on these before. Have owned Scoobies for years but this little thing is a different kettle of fish.
Hello,
I have a rs 182 2005 and I noticed the engine cuts when I'm overtaking or having 'fun' and I know that I must be in the 7000rpm range perhaps a little over but honestly in these situations I'm watching the world outside and not the rev counter. Reading this thread it confirms that there IS a rev limiter (saying change gear t**t) and so I'm not blowing the engine....... my question is then... Can I rely on the limiter to protect the engine or am I living 'on the edge' when it cuts in and I should really really avoid that situation ... any comments welcome:race:
