Reverse light enigma!

Both reverse lights recently stoped working on my valver.

Changed reverse switch, all fuses and bulbs not blown.

Was some corrosion on one terminal of the switch and holder.

Could this be the problem or could it be something internal in the gearbox?

Is despirate because MOT is due and I hate the train! lol.

iirc theres a switch on/in the gearbox that makes em work

Replaced it, think the gearbox may not be striking it/ wiring fault.

Anybody know how to de-rust connections or any way of adjusting the gearbox to strike the switch?

re to derusting get a wire brush on the case that will sort that out
as for the gearbox i have no idea where it is (the switch)

Did you check the length of the 'pusher' on the new switch against the old one?

You can get electrical terminal cleaner, or try some brake cleaner and a small pick to clean the terminals

Pusher was same if not longer.

just dont know what to do atm

Just rang the test centre, aparently i dont need them for my MOT all good

Still want them working tho!
