Driving back from the MOT today abs say in traffic the car randomly cuts out, restarts fine.
Further drivingcar became hesitant including a random bunny hop and then would cut out changing down through the gears. As before re starts fine.
Get the car home and the exhaust smells of rich running/over fuelling.
No faults displayed on the dash at this time.
Started the car back up when the car was cold and I noticed that the rev counter is behaving randomly, stuck below zero despite the car running, exhaust fumes smelling and randomly cuts out when idling .
Any ideas what’s going on? I initially thought injectors, coil pack, plugs, leads etc… but I’m struggling to see how this would cause the rpm issue.
I have enclosed a photo of the dash with the engine running, revs at zero and random dash lights illuminated.
