Revs Rising But Nothing Is Happening

Right, i dont really know how to explain this but last night i was out with my mates just driving around for a bit.
Came to a set of lights and when i pulled away the revs just starting rising but nothing was happening, this happened all the way through the gears.
I stopped and let engine run at idle for a minute and then pulled away and everything was fine.

Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

Same thing happened to mine when the circlip broke on my dif, there is no way it would have started working again until a new one was fitted though!

i coulndt say mate prob between 300-400 for a 172 at a guess have you got a mr clutch near you? they normally do it same day

Yea, theres a Mr Clutch down the road from me.
Its a 1.2 aswell.
