revving problem

  clio 200
this morning on the way to work drove the car for about 15mins gentley when i got to the by pass i opened it up 2nd and 3rd

shift light came on about 1000rpm early and hit the limiter,as if the car was cold.it done this all the way to work and car was warm

has any1 else has this problem with their 197/200

No idea about the 197, but the limiter on the 182 is lower until the engine is proper hot. It can take 10+ minutes at least. The water temp gauge isn't an indication, either.

i dont think the temp is taken by the water, its taken by the oil, so although the gauge may say the engine is warm... thats water temp and the oil temp may not quite be up to temp. which means the limiter will cut in early.

correct me if im wrong someone, thankyou please

Sounds like a car issue to me mate. My 200 is very lumpy and a little like falling down a flight of stairs when its cold but never had the limiter come on early. From past cars they normally do this as protection due to something being wrong.

Take it for a good drive later :D and see if it still happens.

Just out of interest as i have a couple of issues with mine and im not sure they are standard clio fit :D

I get a funny kinda noise when the engine is slowing the car down at slow speeds. Its like a windy noise but stops when the clutch is dropped. Might just be me as im fussy :D

The last inch of the accelerator pedal clicks and is harder to push to the floor. Have been told this is the Cruise control click off but why would you have to floor the car to turn the CC off?

Also got a new front end on order as the panel clips have broken.

Oh and does you key fob unlock your car from about 200m+ did a test last week and it unlocks my car from well over 200m.
