Right im now thinking full rep...

  Flame Red Delight
Well i have got my eye on front wings, side skirts and front bumper (phase 1 172) I know that i am going to need to spray them etc but i was just wondering how easy it is to fit these parts to my non sport? Is there any modification needed if i had all the correct parts? or is it just a case of removing mine and putting the 172 ones back on?

Thanks for any help

Callum

If you want, do it. It depends on how long it is till a new car is a realistic option. And how cheap you can source the parts.

Realistically I won't be able to afford a new car untill next year I would say and I can source parts relatively cheaply it's the painting that's gonna cost the most tbh :(

Put it this way - Do you want to spend the money to make the car look good ??

But if youd much rather save the cash for a newer/faster car then do that the money you save not making a rep means you might be able to get that new car sooner than you think !

I've made my rep now, the attention it gets (yes, I know to the public it's JUST a Clio) makes it worthwile though.

Despite this, I really want a 172 now! Just can't afford it so I have to be patient. Hmph.

Also, if you get the parts in the colour that you need it in then you'll be able to make back what you spent anyway.

You only live once so suppose rep it is :) are phase 1 and 2 wings and side skirts the same?

I made a ph1 rep and for me it was definitly worth it,It looked a tottally different car and i would definitly do it again.I had all my parts painted for free so i guess that makes a big difference. The skirts are same for all 172's,the wings and front bumper are different. The bumper is not a straight swap but can be fitted. The wings go on easy but the skirts require some work i ended up just gluing mine on.You will need to lower it alot and put spacers on it to make it look ok.

How hard is it to fit the front bumper mate? Could you make a small guide or something? And tigerseal may become my new best friend haha

Why do a rep when you can just buy a 172 for the same kind of money you are going to spend. Just pay the insurance, cant e that bad, i was insured on a 300bhp car at 17, so whats wrong with a 172??

The bumper bolts to the wings but the holes on the front are in a different place so its best to go to renault and get the adapters, otherwise just put a cable tie through it.

  Flame Red Delight
you couldnt get me a pic chris could you as i am unsure about the adapter thing you are talking about? because i know if i go to renault it will be, "adapters for front bumper please?"

Renault: "ehhh... what you talking about?" or "ehh that willl be £300"and it will be the wrong part
