Anyway first day was dry at the ring and got 4 toruble free laps in

Next day was dry and got 3 trouble free laps in

Then day 3 it pi**ed it down and i wanted to get a wet lap in (fail)

I knew was would be slippy but didnt think it would be this slippy, was doing 20-30mph slower than in the dry and i went to slowly turn into the first....yes first right hander just before the pit entrance and it just understeered/aquaplained off into the barriers.

A few cable ties later and some duc tape later and she was ready to go back out, but in the dry.

Later one night i went out to see if part of my grill was still at the side of the track

So your idea of a good holiday is crashing your car then breaking down on the way home?

It would pretty much depend if you were stupid enough to post about it on an internet forum tbh. You'd have to be pretty idiotic to do that.

Why jon? I have no idea about the rules of the ring?

Looks like a good holiday, and it's nice to see someone with the "it's only a car" attitude.

At the end of the day if you went on a normal holiday and lost your wallet, you could still have a brilliant holiday, guess this is no different

You hit the barrier then drive off. You Sir are a tw*t! Hardly any damage, but what if you have knocked a pipe loose and you are leaking coolant or oil??? What if the next car or bike around slips on that and crashed badly.

Plus there is a good reason why armco is replaced when hit. Its a racetrack, anything hit could be weakened, hence its replaced or if a car hits it doing speed it could fail. Jesus wept.

I might forward this thread onto the office, so next time you come they'll know who you are. Number plate won't be hard to spot.

I seriously doubt, with the damge done to the car, that it would make a blind bit of difference to that re-inforced concrete. Your right about the leaks though but im guessing a quick inspection would have resolved that.

Ok, so you hit the wall. Nothing is leaking or appears to be. So you think "Haha! got away with this" and bugger off.

On the way round to get off, you lose a coolant hose and it spills coolant all over the track. Biker goes down and dies. All because you didn't phone in.
Its why the place has rules.

A few of us go there alot. We have seen the terrible terrible things that happen when people think of themselves over other people.
Lives have been lost because of this behavior.

If he had parked up, called the office, they would of come out, looked at the damage and the car and said " on you go" .

They are not stupid however, If a car park marshall had seen that damage and pulled it over as it came back in, They would of then made you pay the absolute maximum.

Should your fluids cause a serious accident, and you knowingly drive off, You WILL be in big trouble if they catch you. The police investigate all serious accidents on there. Its not just breaking the rules of Nurburgring Gmbh, its Breaking german law.

At the end of the day, the OP has been an idiot, but got away with it.

Lets hope in the future nobody else behaves like this when they visit the ring.

I wont even go into the timing and wet laps on R888's

Looks like a good trip aside from all of that.

It wasn't what you posted that it was aimed at....it was the way you say things fella. For a laugh I was looking down the list of rules for posting and tbh you must have a thousand points against you by now...calling him a tw*t...not sure many would get away with it tbh

Defo agree on the R888 and wet track...Fred and Yoz had some fun on the 1st bend at oulton a few years back...

He is a t**t. People that put lives in danger are t***s.

Chris you know the procedure for reporting posts. Not sure why you feel the need to discuss it in the wrong area.

Everyone is intitaled to their own oppionion, I brushed the wall as such a slow speed that i knew everything was going to be fine. Apart from the little crack in the wing its just paint from the tyres which is on my bumper. Not sure how fast i hit it but only a few mph.

I didnt time my lap in the wet as that would be silly, yes i did underestimate how slippy it would be in the wet but live and learn from your mistakes. Oh and the scrapes on the wall were allready there, perhaps the wall looks worse than it is.

You should call your insurance every time you make any change to your car, do you?? This could in turn en-danger someones life somehow...

Sometimes, common sense prevails.

  TrackCar & F30 330d
You are missing the point. You should have called it in.

I suppose with adrelinin pumping i probably thought no damage so no need to call it in. If it was to ever happen again i will call it in.

Every modification is declaired on my car, From the ITB's to the roll cage. So my insurance is all legit.

Did you mean do my insurance know about the stickers? Does anybody declaire their Cliosport.net sticker?

My point was for you mate, not against you, and nothing to do with insurance. Just making the point that it was obviously a very small incident and you used common sense in knowing the car was not damaged and carried on.

Its not like the ring FORCE the rules down your throat is it? you pay.. you go on track, you drive home..

You dont sign anything to say you've read the rules and terms..

The guy is a newbie, he did wrong, hes been told... he wont do it again

Ouch, coming down like a ton of bricks in here!

Looks like an eventful trip, I would agree that you have been a little silly however I can fully understand why you made the decision to drive off, adrenaline and all that.

What's up with the car now then?

Its easily done, and yes in his case it wasn't serious damage. There are lots of horror stories from the ring about bills etc, fact is very small shunts are rarely billed, specially when they aint armco like here. Marshalls are alot like the police, If you call in, tell them where you are and whats happened, they will be alot more sympathetic.

I have had to be towed off the ring when my engine blew lots of smoke through the breather and burnt it out through the exhaust, the marshals came checked the track for oil, flagged for 30 minutes until the tow truck came, then said "thanks for calling it in", and off they went. The time before when I brushed the armco, i stopped, checked the car, called it in, they asked if It was driveable I said "yes" and i went off and stopped at the office. I had a free lap with the marshalls, only to have them drive past where I had the accident at 40 mph and say " ohhhhh its fine, no bill today"
The horror stories come from the guys that have a big accident, try and limp off, and have 4 or 5 cars crash on their spilled fluids. Its when those people are reported , seen, or caught at the exit, where there is big trouble.

Long as you have learn't then its a good thing, But posting about "driving off' to lots of people that want and intend to go for the first time, is not the best example to set, hence the ton of bricks.
